Problem

A photon travels perpendicularly through a stack consisting of 1.00 cm1.00\,\text{cm} of glass (n=1.50n = 1.50) followed immediately by 2.00 cm2.00\,\text{cm} of water (n=1.33n = 1.33). Using c=3.00×108 m/sc = 3.00\times10^{8}\,\text{m/s}, compute (a) the total time the photon spends inside the two materials and (b) the ratio of this time to the time the photon would require to travel the same total distance in air.
