Problem

A wave travels a distance of 68 m in 0.20 s and has a wavelength of 0.85 m. (i) Starting from the fundamental definitions of wavelength, time period and speed, derive an expression for the frequency ff of a wave in terms of its speed vv and wavelength λ\lambda. (ii) Using your derived expression, calculate the frequency of the given wave. (iii) If the frequency of the wave is doubled while it continues to travel in the same medium, what will be its new wavelength? Show your steps clearly.
