Problem

For any real angles aa and bb, define S=sin⁡a+sin⁡bS=\sin a + \sin b. (i) Prove that S=2sin⁡a+b2cos⁡a−b2S = 2\sin\dfrac{a+b}{2}\cos\dfrac{a-b}{2}. (ii) By following analogous steps, obtain an expression for sin⁡a−sin⁡b\sin a - \sin b in terms of half-sum and half-difference of aa and bb. (iii) Hence simplify the numerical expression sin⁡65∘+sin⁡25∘\sin 65^{\circ}+\sin 25^{\circ}.
