Two carts A and B of masses 2 kg and 3 kg respectively move along a straight, friction-free track in the same direction. Cart A travels at 5 m s⁻¹ and overtakes cart B, which is initially at rest. After the collision, cart A continues in the same direction with a speed of 1 m s⁻¹.
(i) Calculate the impulse received by cart A.
(ii) State the magnitude and direction of the impulse received by cart B.
