Problem

The displacement of a transverse wave travelling along a rope is described by y(x,t)=0.05sin⁡(40x−60t),y(x,t) = 0.05 \sin(40x - 60t), where xx is measured in centimetres and tt in milliseconds. Answer the following questions: (i) Rewrite the wave equation so that xx is expressed in metres and tt in seconds while keeping the numerical coefficient of the sine argument correct. (ii) From your rewritten equation, obtain the numerical values of the wavelength, frequency and wave speed in SI units.
