Problem

Let f(x)=x2−9f(x)=x^{2}-9. (i) Factorise f(x)f(x). (ii) Explain why the factors obtained in part (i) immediately give the solutions of the equation x2−9=0x^{2}-9=0. (iii) Using the reasoning in part (ii), state all solutions of x2−9=0x^{2}-9=0.
