Problem

An upright arrow 6 cm6\,\text{cm} high is placed at right angles to the principal axis of a concave mirror of focal length 12 cm12\,\text{cm}. Its lower tip lies on the principal axis and is 24 cm24\,\text{cm} in front of the mirror. (a) By drawing a suitable ray diagram, locate the image of (i) the lower tip and (ii) the head of the arrow. (b) Calculate the position of the image of the lower tip. (c) Using your diagram, determine the orientation and height of the complete image of the arrow.
