Problem

A train travels a distance of 480 km at a constant speed. If its speed had been 8 km h−1^{-1} less, the journey would have taken 3 hours more. (i) Taking the original speed of the train to be vv km h−1^{-1}, form an equation in vv based on the above information. (ii) Solve the equation obtained in part (i) to determine the speed of the train. (iii) Using your answer from part (ii), find the actual time taken by the train to cover 480 km.
